Job Description
The Health and Sports Medicine Center (HSMC) Abu Dhabi is designed to improve the health, physical performance and wellbeing of military staff.
It aims to accomplish this mission through a global, all-encompassing approach to health involving the integrated work programs of four specialized sections: Physical Education and Training; Sports and Exercise Medicine; Nutrition and Dietetics; and Health Education.
The four sections comprising the HSMC have separate purposes and, therefore, work programs. However, considerable overlap exists between them and, consequently, each section will work together to achieve the global HSMC mission.
Senior Rehabilitation Instructor / Exercise Therapist
Purpose
Improve the quality and effectiveness of injury prevention and rehabilitation protocols within assigned military bases
Duties
1. Oversee and manage assigned rehabilitation staff throughout the UAE
2. Contribute to best practice protocols and procedures that will be used throughout the rehabilitation protocols.
3. Create and supervise one on one and group rehabilitation protocols
4. Oversee initial and continued medical education of all rehabilitation personnel
5. Review literature on a regular basis to ensure that interventions and campaigns are aligned with current health promotion and education theory
6. Collaborate with Senior Physiotherapist in musculoskeletal screening of military recruits and personnel
7. Maintain a close rapport with all referrers to the rehabilitation instructors
8. Provide statistical data and maintain audits regarding the rehabilitation set-up
9. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
10. Provide regular performance reviews of clinics and staff
11. Collaborate with relevant staff on exercise programs and patient management
12. Give educational talks on available rehabilitation services and on any health related topic as required by the Health Education Section.
Requirements
Minimum 8 years post-qualification relevant work experience. Graduate qualified in rehabilitation and exercise therapy or related subject; good computer skills; experienced in musculoskeletal problem management, field testing and performance monitoring; knowledge of Arabic language beneficial. Experience with FMS and GALS screening and Military set-up are an asset. Driving license.
